Take Notice: L.A.’s AMD

L.A.'s AMD Heating Up
Tech geeks be warned, we aren’t talking micro processors here, AMD is Angels of Modern Destruction. We hear the Los Angeles female-foursome is racking up the frequent flyer miles with east and west coast label showcases. The tattooed ladies of latter-day ruin are working with more than a few of today’s hottest hit writers and uber-attorney John Branca is repping the group.

L.A.'s Rob Roy
It was an industry coming-out of sorts for Los Angeles via Florida rhymesmith Rob Roy last night at On The Rox. In recent weeks the blogosphere has been lighting up with Rob’s video for “Fur In My Cap”, most notably a post on Kanye West’s blog. With a variety of the usual suspects out to see the action, surely there will be more to report soon…
And did we mention dude already has his own custom Chuck’s?!
02.24.09File Under: Stuff We Like – NYC Edition

April Smith @ Mercury Feb. 26
Those in the City of Cities would do well to stop by the Mercury Lounge this Thursday night at 7:30PM to catch April Smith & The Great Picture Show’s showcase performance. This Brooklyn songstress has been racking-up the miles crisscrossing the country (don’t worry, her bus runs on veggie-oil) supporting JD Souther on his most recent national tour. Apparently the legendary songwriter handpicked her for the tour after scouring the internets, and he isn’t the only one taking notice… With press picking up and an IMA Best Pop/Rock Song award for her tune “Colors”, we’ve heard the tiptoeing of labels and publishers.
Check it out – we’re digging the Dexter inspired “Terrible Things”
